Insider's Guide to hair and makeup

You may not be on top of science, but that does not mean that science will spare you on your wedding day. Your biggest enemy on your special day is called gravity and gravity affects every person. Always keep gravity in mind when you sit down to decide on your hair and makeup.
Gravity pulls everything downwards. It developed a misplaced love for the hair of brides. To ruin your hair do, gravity calls on his two friends in nature, wind and water. So after you spend hours in the salon to build up body and shine, these three will undo it in minutes, starting the moment you walk from the cool salon into the warm street.

But surely there must be ways to fight back? Luckily there is and the best answer and product to use is called common sense. See your hair as escaping below the radar when you plan for your wedding. First and foremost – know your hair type.

Fine hair that is as straight as anything, will whistle to Mr gravity and his friends alerting them that you tried to put some curl into them. Within an hour your hair will start loosing all curl and find its way to hanging down straight again. No product you spray on, rub in or have chemically induced into your hair will stop this process.

Fly under the radar technique: Stay with your natural look and enhance the cut and colour to get that perfect look. Now you need not worry about a thing.

Spare a moment for your friend with the very curly hair that opted for a straightened out look. Water gets notice of this and attacks your do with a menace the moment you walk into damp air. Again, no product or guarantee from any hair dresser will stop this process and you will end up with a hair do that simply won’t last the night as it curls up in your neck and on top of your head.

Flying under the radar here is as easy as enhancing your natural curl by keeping to curly and natural hair. Again, rather cut and colour than style into a different look.

I hear many women scream out that this is not true. They had up styles that made it perfectly through their weddings. The truth is that they had hair so covered with lacquer type hair spray that not even a hurricane could move a strand. Looked fantastic on the pictures, absorbed all the challenges from nature and came out looking great, but the next day, they paid the price.

No groom can run his fingers through such a creation and instead of waking up relaxed and ready for a honeymoon, these brides woke up and started a fight with their hair to get it back to normal. A simple wash won't help as hair needs special care, moisturising and protection against sun after the natural oil on your hair was stripped down by all the hair spray.
